One aspect that makes up the HaloCare solution is the HaloPad. The HaloPad is a user-friendly tablet that allows clients to call, video call and share photos with family and friends, as well as providing access to the Care Hub team for comfort calls.
At the initial installation stage, our HaloCare technician will set up the HaloPad and provide an overview of how the technology works. This ensures that clients feel confident using the HaloPad from the outset, before getting the opportunity to explore the platform on their own time.
Setup:
1. Plug the charging cradle into a wall socket.
2. Place the HaloPad into the charging cradle.
3. Wait a few minutes and the HaloPad will automatically turn on. Once charged, the HaloPad can be removed from the charging cradle for use.
4. The HaloPad lasts 1–3 days from full charge.
The HaloPad keeps clients connected and supported from the comfort of home, benefiting clients at every stage of their daily routine.
Tackles social isolation
The HaloPad is designed to reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation. Clients can regularly have video or phone calls, at the touch of a button, with friends and family and enjoy photo sharing all from a safe, secure central location.
Clients can use the HaloPad for online web browsing to join social groups or online communities to help with companionship from the comfort of home.
HaloCare clients also have the option to opt in for a daily ‘comfort call’, where they will be contacted for a chat by a member of the Care Hub team. Comfort calls can be carried out on the phone or via the HaloPad.
Supports memory conditions
For clients that need additional support with their activities of daily living, the HaloPad Calendar feature can be used to set up daily reminders for medications, appointments, and important tasks.
Client’s families can also request access to the HaloPad Calendar using the HaloCare Circle of Care Companion App.
For anyone living with dementia or a memory loss condition, having one central location with all the information they need can help ensure important appointments are not missed.
