How does a HaloCare sensor work at home?

Written by HaloCare | Sep 25, 2024 6:45:44 PM

HaloCare’s home sensors are designed to provide enhanced safety and support for older adults or anyone who needs additional support for living alone at home. HaloCare sensors are part of a wider holistic approach to delivering care at home.

Here’s how the HaloCare solution works:

Non-Intrusive support

HaloCare sensors are discreetly placed throughout the home with minimal disruption to the client's home. The sensors use motion detection to better understand what's happening in the home environment, such as when someone leaves or enters a room, or stays in one area for an unusual amount of time.

If the contactless motion detection sensor picks up that someone is on the floor with no movement in the room, a notification is sent to the Care Hub who can then check in on the client and ensure they haven’t fallen or had a medical emergency

Vital Signs Monitoring

Certain sensors are equipped to monitor vital signs like heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. These readings help provide health professionals with the information they need to stay informed about any changes in the user's health.

Monitoring Vital Signs supports early intervention and helps the client still receive quality care from the comfort of home.

Environment Monitoring & Appliance management

HaloCare sensors can also track environmental factors, such as room temperature or can detect if taps have been left running, ensuring that the home environment is always safe and comfortable for the client.

Sensors can also be added to various appliances in the home such as the oven, fridges or kettles to detect if appliances have been used or left on. For individuals that live with dementia or a memory condition, solutions like environment monitoring and appliance management can be a great source of comfort to family members so that their loved one is safe at home.

Privacy Considerations

An important aspect of HaloCare’s technology is maintaining the privacy and dignity of the individual living at home. The system doesn’t use cameras, meaning the sensors can pick up on activity in the home, while balancing safety and respect for personal space.

By integrating this advanced sensor technology, HaloCare enhances the quality of life for individuals who need additional support, helping them remain safe and independent in their own homes.
